½ pound bacon, diced (we used bacon ends, an option if purchasing a whole pig)
1 tablespoon butter
3 cloves garlic, minced
3 tablespoons parmesan cheese
salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
Bring a large pot of water to a boil and add the green beans. Cook until tender 5-8 minutes and drain. Immediately put the green beans in an ice bath. (This is called blanching and helps the beans keep their green color.)
In a medium sized skillet cook the bacon until crisp. Remove and drain the fat.
